"Look at my funny red nose! Can
you touch your nose?" When Loveee the Clown
visited Mauzy School early in June, she showered her 100-watt
smile and loving attention
on each and every child. With the help of her faithful sidekick
- Lion puppet "Roary" -
Loveee brightened spirits with fun music, bright colors,
bubble blowing, and her special
brand of caring. Some of the children (and even North Central
Regional Programs
Principal Rebecca Corrigan) got the chance to bring out
their inner clown by putting on
their own red nose, brightly colored wig and funny hat.
Loveee
is the alter ego of Donna, a surgical trauma nurse at John Muir
Hospital, who
began clowning around two years ago after she graduated from clown
college. "Becoming
a professional clown was my way to balance the stress of my job
as a nurse," Donna said,
"I've always loved kids and loved acting silly. You see a lot
of bad things in trauma - but
as a clown, everything you do is a happy experience."
A
happy experience and a morning of fun and laughter that's what Loveee
the Clown brought to Mauzy School's students, parents, and staff.
